10 criminals generate a large volume of calls in Victoria

While a small group of people are generating a large amount of calls for the Greater Victoria region, Victoria police refer many calls to social-service agencies in an effort to better serve the individual and the community.

“Unfortunately, with folks who are addicted to drugs or alcohol, there tends to be co-morbidity between that and criminal activity,” he said. “If you’re unstably housed and mentally ill, you’re at greater risk of drug addiction and therefore more likely to commit petty crime.”
