Advocates call for age-appropriate housing

Seniors homelessness is on the rise in Greater Victoria – prompting a call for more age appropriate housing.

Faced with an aging homeless population, advocates in Victoria are calling for more “age-appropriate” affordable housing in the city. According to shelter data from 2012, those over the age of 55 comprise 12 per cent of Victoria’s homeless. That’s up from eight per cent in 2008.
