Esquimalt family denied moving help after stay at shelter

Moving on from homelessness can be the greatest challenge, as one Greater Victoria family recently discovered.

…after spending a month in a family suite at Rock Bay Landing shelter, with three children, they have a chance to move into an apartment with help from the ministry, which is paying the first month’s rent and damage deposit. But, in a bizarre catch, the ministry is refusing to pay for their belongings to be taken out of storage because they are not moving to cheaper accommodation.
