CFAX 1070’s Frank Stanford takes on the issue of affordable housing in his most recent comment:

I have no doubt of the validity of a concept the powers that be refer to as a “housing continuum”.
It’s not only the apparently indigent who need a leg up in Victoria’s ultra-tough housing market.  Many people who are working full time cannot afford decent accommodations at market rents.  And so some of the money you contribute through your property taxes to a housing trust fund goes to subsidize development of housing for working people, and not necessarily those you would automatically characterize as “working poor”
