EWP was activated last night as temperatures dipped below freezing.
The decision to open up emergency shelter beds last night for people who are homeless was based on Environment Canada reports, said Jen Bacon, regional co-ordinator of the program, this morning. The weather was expected to fall below freezing. The barometer slipped to 0.3 Degrees C last night but the sun is already shining this morning and temperatures are expected to rebound to 2 Degrees C this morning and a high of 5 Degrees C today.
