Community Resources:

Burnside Gorge Community Association: 

  • The Good Food Box has been cancelled for the next two weeks.
  • Community Dinner is cancelled.
  • Recreation programs including Seniors Lunch & Learn are cancelled.

Our Place:

  • Our Place kitchen is continuing to serve three meals per day on the street in front of 919 Pandora Avenue. Meal hours: 8am-9am, 12pm-1pm, 5pm-6pm.

Rainbow Kitchen:

#1315-1277 Lyall St., Victoria

  • Lunch to go from 11am to 1pm.
  • Drop-in is closed.

St John the Divine:

1611 Quadra St

  • Pre-packing food for pick up. Hours: 10am to 12pm on Tuesdays and Fridays (No food on 3rd week of each month)

The Mustard Seed Street Church:

Queens location (625 Queens street)

  • Queens location is closed down on the inside.
  • Staff is serving hot coffee and hot lunch out the kitchen door into the parking lot for our street community members. *we are asking community members to not hang around due to the numbers we are serving.

Food Security Distribution Center (808B Viewfield)

  • Food Security Distribution Center is closed down to all agencies picking up food. Only staff and a few screened volunteers allowed on site. Food orders will be placed in dock bay doors and agencies will pick up outside of the warehouse.

We are serving a month:

  • 200 people a day hot lunch
  • 200+ people a day pre-made hampers
  • 70 agencies fresh produce/ veggies and dairy – impacting 40,000

The Salvation Army Victoria:

  • The Salvation Army ARC (525 Johnson St., Victoria): Continuing to serve the public by providing community meals in take-out containers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:45 am.
  • The Salvation Army Stan Hagen Centre (2695 Quadra St., Victoria): Produce (packaged) daily starting at 1 pm; emergency food available.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul:

835 Yates St, Victoria

  • The food bank is open for pick-up only.

Anawim House:

  • Effective  March 17, 2020 Anawim will be closed for drop in services. Our house is built in a way that promotes people working clossely together. With the Covid 19 going around we are a breeding ground. We have to keep our residents our staff and most importatnly our guests safe.

First Metropolitan United Church

  • Open Shelter: Shelter mats have been re-arranged to allow for physical distancing.

Kiwanis Emergency Youth Shelter (KEYS):

  • Ages 13-18: 24 hour shelter intake with some criteria.

Our Place:

  • Will continue operating its washroom facilities, transitional housing, shelter spaces.
  • Our Place will be closing its seasonal shelter as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and limiting
    the number of people who can access shelter mats at First Met and My Place.

The Salvation Army Victoria:

  • For the health, safety and well-being of the men in our care, we have had to close our facility to the public for the time being. Only staff and residents may enter our facility.
  • Our community programming; Alcoholics Anonymous, Brain Injury Support group and SMART Recovery meetings are all temporarily on hold.
  • We are only accepting new clients from Vancouver Island Health Authority.
  • We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding as our frontline staff continue to serve and care for Victoria’s vulnerable population.

Victoria Coolaid Society:

  • All Cool Aid shelters remain open
  • We have made the difficult decision to stop admitting clients into shelter beds.
  • Drop-in at Rock Bay Landing will be closed except for hygiene hours from 9 am-11 am and 1 pm-3 pm. Waiting lists for showers will be taken.
  • The Cool Aid Temporary Shelter CATS has reduced capacity with 30 mats, in order to provide enough space between people.

Victoria Native Frienship Centre:

  • Essential services such as shelter and homelessness outreach will continue.

Our Place:

  • Will continue operating its washroom facilities, transitional housing, shelter spaces.

Pacifica Housing Society:

  • Supportive Housing and Fairfield Hotel staff will continue to be present on site with increased cleaning protocols and social distancing measures to avoid direct contact.

Victoria CoolAid Society:

  • All Cool Aid housing remains open.
  • In order to reduce the spread of the virus, tenants are asked not to allow guests into the building or your room.
  • We are taking measures to create social distancing in all common areas like laundry rooms, lobbies and where meals are distributed. Extra efforts are being put into cleaning procedures to ensure all common touch areas are sanitized frequently. We want to make sure we are creating as a healthy a space as we can.

Our Place:

  • The greatest needs during this time are financial donations, and to assist those we care
    about most as we adjust our shelters to comply with health regulations: single-person
    tents, sleeping bags and tarps.
  • For donors not wishing to venture downtown, donations
    can be dropped off at New Roads Therapeutic Recovery Community, 94 Talcott Road in
    View Royal, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4:30pm.

  • Currently not scheduling any donation pick ups and have cancelled all pick ups that are currently scheduled.

Threshold Housing Society:

  • Pausing the intake of any in kind, donations such as household items. We ask that if you would like to support THS through monetory donations to do so via their website

Victoria CoolAid Society:

  • Please do not bring in your donation in person.
  • During this crisis, we are encouraging financial donations – and not items or food. You can donate online, call 250-383-1977 or mail a cheque to 101-749 Pandora Avenue, Victoria BC, V8W 1N9.
  • We are not accepting donations of goods or food at any location to facilitate social distance and keep everyone safe.

Cool Aid Community Health Centre (713 Johnson Street):

New health centre and pharmacy hours

  • This Thursday and Friday opening at 9 am instead of 8:30
  • Starting Monday, March 23 > 9:00-4:30 Monday to Thursday until further notice
  • No change for Fridays 9-3 and Saturdays 10-2
  • If you are a health clinic client, you will be able to speak with a doctor, nurse or pharmacy team member and they will address your medical concern via telephone at 250-385-1466.

Cool Aid Dental Clinic (713 Johnson Street):

  • The Cool Aid Dental Clinic is closed at this time to all elective and non-essential dental services as directed from the Office of the Provincial Health Officer.
  • We will be open for emergency concerns that would include: patients requiring immediate treatment due to infection, acute pain and/or trauma. For more information call 250-383-5957
