Staffed by volunteers and funded by community donations, the Mustard Seed’s annual Christmas dinner provides a festive holiday event for those in need.
A festive dinner is often about family, and there was certainly a family feeling at the annual Mustard Seed Christmas dinner Sunday. More than 1,000 people gathered around the tables at the Bay Street Armoury, served by a team of 150 volunteers. The came for the turkey and trimmings, but the event was as much about refreshing the spirit as it was about refueling the body. It was a warm, positive event that showed that people in Greater Victoria care about each other.
