The high rate of child poverty in BC is causing controversy over child support clawbacks.

Single parents on income assistance in the province say they are being taken advantage of. They claim the government is clawing back their child support payments while BC is enjoying a budget surplus. And with 1 in 5 kids in BC living in poverty, one island mother says “something’s gotta give.”
