Woman takes government to court to help homeless vote

Archive, In the News

Local homelessness activist, Rose Henry, is fighting for the right to vote.

A former homeless woman says federal election rules discriminate against the poor and she wants them changed. In 2008, Rose Henry was turned away from the ballot box because she didn’t have proper identification. Since then she’s taken the federal government to court. The case is now before the British Columbia court of appeal.
