Project ReConnect 2022

Project ReConnect is a one-day, one-stop annual service fair that provides community members experiencing homelessness and poverty with access to free services, resources and referrals.

Project ReConnect 2022 is shaping up to be a day of shared conversation, learning, fellowship, food, and entertainment!

For many years, the Downton Service Providers Committee has organized an annual service fair that provides community members experiencing homelessness, and low income or poverty, with access to free services, resources, and referrals. After a two-year Covid-19 hiatus, we are bringing it back as Project Reconnect. Generously sponsored by the United Way of Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) and the UWSI Labour Council. Project Reconnect will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022, at the Royal Athletic Park, 1014 Caledonia Ave & Vancouver Street Plaza.

We will be recruiting volunteers for various roles and lengths of shifts on Monday and Tuesday, August 22nd and 23rd. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator: Michael Lane, phone: 250-885-5323 email: michael.lane@maximuscanada.ca
We will start our donation drive campaign the first week of August, we will start collecting items for care packs, as well as financial contributions. To drop off donations contact: Janine Theobald, phone: 250-217-3709 email: jtheobald@victoriahomelessness.ca

Volunteer Roles

6 people – Set-up crew from 9:00-10:00
6 people – Take-down crew from 3:00-4:00
6 people – Barbeque Cooks from 11:00-1:00
6 people – Beverage table from 11:00-1:00, handing out coffee and water, and supporting Cooks
8 people – Runners for food supplies from 10:00-3:00
