Project ReConnect 2023

The Downtown Service Providers (DSP) Committee is bringing back Project Reconnect (formerly known as Project Connect) on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023, at the Royal Athletic Park, 1014 Caledonia Ave & Vancouver Street Plaza.

For many years, the DSP Committee has organized this annual service fair that provides community members experiencing homelessness and poverty, with access to free services, resources, and referrals. This event is generously sponsored by the United Way of Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) and the UWSI Labour Council.

Project Reconnect brings together service providers to provide services including medical care, ID replacement, haircuts, foot care, veterinary help, and much more. Each of the estimated 200-300 people who attend Project Reconnect will receive their “care pack” – filled with essential items including socks and gloves, personal hygiene items, and other necessities.
